Contribute to the reform agenda of the Government and to EU-Armenia Partnership Priorities

A new programme funded by the EU and implemented by the Centre for Strategic Initiatives and EU-funded Development and Strategic Studies project, called the Young Experts Scheme – YES Armenia, is looking for highly qualified and enthusiastic young Armenians, living in Armenia as well as in diaspora, to work in and for ministries, government agencies, and other government institutions for 12 months, bringing new dynamics and energy into civil service and contributing to its modernisation. The programme is opened for applications until 15 October 2017, 8 PM Yerevan time. 

During the presentation of the YES Armenia Programme, H.E. Mr Piotr Antoni Świtalski, Ambassador, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Armenia reiterated the importance of such programmes by saying: “Armenia needs more young people actively involved in strategic thinking, which is why the EU supports this exciting and promising initiative”. Mr Aleksandr Khachaturyan, the Executive Director of the Center for Strategic Initiatives, expressed his gratitude to the EU and other partners and further stressed that, “The YES Armenia Programme is a great way to show the young people that they can deliver and make a positive change”. 
Yes Armenia
YES Armenia is a programme which offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to contribute to the reform agenda of the Government and to EU-Armenia Partnership Priorities. The multi-stakeholder Selection Committee will select around 20 young Armenian citizens and/or Armenians from Diaspora, between the age of 25 and 35 to work on specific Government priority related projects for the period of 12 months. The list of projects is diverse, including topics such as support to establishing new governance model for public schools, development of tourism products, development and operationalisation of National Digital Transformation Agenda, and establishing public private partnership (PPP) system in Armenia.

The young experts will work with the Centre for Strategic Initiatives (CSI) and high-level officials in the Government (e.g. ministers, deputy ministers, etc.). In addition, the programme offers young experts a training and skills development and mentoring/ coaching package, which includes compulsory induction training, competency based training, guest lectures, and various other opportunities to exchange experience with their peers and further develop their skill set.
