Sara Anjargolian was born in London and grew up in California. She graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Policy, and received a law degree from the University of California, Berkeley. During her legal career in the U.S. she served as a trial lawyer with the U.S. Department of Justice and deputy city attorney/policy advisor to the Los Angeles City Attorney.
 
Sara repatriated to Armenia in 2012. In 2014, she co-founded the non-profit social enterprise Impact Hub Yerevan and served as its CEO until joining the Republic of Armenia government in 2019. She also served on the Impact Hub Global Board of Directors. Sara's tenure in Armenia has also included a Fulbright scholarship from 2002 to 2004, teaching at the American University of Armenia, and working as a multimedia journalist focused on social impact projects from 2009 to 2014. 
 
Sara is the former Head of Office/Chief of Staff at the Republic of Armenia’s Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. She held the position for over 2 years during which time she spearheaded the well-known iGorts Fellowship Program, which for the first time in the history of the Republic of Armenia institutionalized the practice of Diaspora Armenians moving to Armenia to serve within the RA government. Sara currently serves as senior advisor on governance, strategy and public sector reform to several RA Ministers and government agencies.
