How to Pay Utility Bills?

If you own your home in Armenia, you will be responsible for monthly paying your water, gas, electricity, trash, and landline phone bills. If you rent, speak to your landlord so you know what he will cover and what you will be responsible for. This is something you agree to with your landlord and each case is different. 
 

When to Pay?

Bills should be paid between the 7th and 20th of each month. By the 25th of each month, you can expect calls or visits from officials urging you to make payment if you haven’t already done so. 

How to Pay?

Paying for utilities in Armenia is easy because there are a number of ways to do it and you can do it from almost anywhere. 

1) Online
The easiest ways to pay is through the number of apps like iDram, MobiDram, EasyPay, Telcell.  

2) Terminals
There are green, red, and orange terminals (Telcell, EasyPay, Mobidram, iDram among others) throughout the city, including in nearly all supermarkets and banks. You can make utility payments at any one of these. Note that you may be charged a very small transaction fee. 

Pro Tip: if you use a terminal to pay and put more money in than necessary to pay your bill, the leftover amount remains in your account, so don’t worry!
 

3) HayPost

You can visit any HayPost office to pay for your utilities. They will probably be looking up the account with the phone number associated with the account so make sure you have that. Otherwise, each account has its own number so consider getting those from your landlord or from the post office employees during your first visit. 

Pro Tip: This is the traditional way to pay for most people in the country, so there is a good likelihood that you will encounter long lines. 
 

4) Banks or Internet/Mobile Banking

You can also make your utility payments via internet/mobile banking or at your local bank branch. This works just like the post office, so go prepared with the information you need that will help the bank employee pull up your account information. Lines at banks, especially during peak hours and in certain parts of the city, can be long.
