Outcome
Manage a highly productive team of 3-4 QA engineers focused on delivering high quality on a predictable cadence.
Required Skills
  • 1-3 years’ experience owning the QA process and managing a QA team
  • Proven experience coaching, mentoring
  • Knowledge of disk structure, different file systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Knowledge of testing theory (ISTQB certificate as a plus)
  • Test design skills
  • Experience in test environment and test data preparation
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues
  • Practical skills in Disk Management on Windows and Linux OSes
  • Virtualization - VMware vSphere, Hyper-V
  • Linux OS administration: remote server, file system operations, services, network shares
  • Windows OS administration, both client and server OS: services, network settings, remote desktop, Firewall, file system management, network shares
  • TestRail, Jira
  • Experience working in Scrum teams
  • Experience with testing client-server applications (Windows, Linux)
  • Jenkins as a plus
  • Mongo as a plus
 
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Review new / proposed feature implementation and design thorough test plans to validate.
  • Careful review of bug reports and risk analysis for new and existing issues.
  • Weekly 1-1 meetings with direct reports, coaching and mentoring team members.
  • Investigation of failed automation cases including root cause analysis.
  • Review pending and future automation work and advise team on new test scenarios to automate.
  • Perform peer-code reviews on new automation work.
  • Perform regression testing including execution, creation, updating and monitoring completeness.
  • Develop and perform non-functional regression testing.
  • Report testing status and risk assessments to scrum team and direct manager.
  • Analyze customer found defects to provide gap fill for regression testing
  • Acceptance testing on new features, bug fixes and enhancements.
  • Quality improvements to best practices and process including collaboration with Product Development
  • Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement
  • Analyze and prioritize bug tickets to promote important issues to improve customer satisfaction
